Sort of yes, he promised to close the PRISON at Gitmo in one year (of his taking office). No, it turns out BushCo completely screwed up maintaining evidence to be used in trials; that and other complications mean the closure will be pushed back. (In other words, due to things beyond Obama's control, it won't happen exactly WHEN he said it would.)





3/4, Yes Obama DID predict that unemployment wouldn't go over 8%; since the economy was worse off than most people realized, it DID go higher.





4/5 -- Partly true. Early in his campaign, when there was NO plan for us to EVER leave, he said he'd bring them out. Then Bush was forced by the Iraqis to accept a withdrawl agreement. From that point on, Obama's promise had changed to a commitment to honor that agreement. That's exactly what he's been doing. (Wing-nuts have such SHORT memories!)





7/8, Again, partly true. No one on his staff can deal with issues they lobbied on; when they leave, they can't lobby on the issues they worked on. (I know, some things are too complicated for wing-nut brains to grasp, but the bottom line is that he's dealt with the underlying problems involved in having former lobbiest staff.
